Hi I am Emma, writer, teacher, public speaker and also the editor at Tots 100 I have been blogging for eight years and full time for three. I am a feminist and this shows in some posts, I was previously Head of Sociology in a large comprehensive school in Gloucestershire. I like wine, clothes and going away (who doesn’t) I am a total social media addict who also write’s at Emma and 3 Emma and 3 has been a finalist in The Mad blog awards in the School Days category (2015) and was awarded ‘Outstanding Contribution’ (2014). I am a HuffPost contributor which can be seen here. Mums savvy savings was a finalist in the Thrifty category of the MAD blog awards (2015).
Mums Savvy Savings is my new venture. I like the good things things in life, along with the rest of the family and in order to have that I need to be savvy. We are undergoing huge family changes as I swap the classroom for freelacing to give our family more quality time and more attention. Therefore this blog will document how I am saving money but still living the good life.
The next year is going to bring changes and we are going to be making smarter decisions. I have a willing husband in this and three children who seem willing but may not be so willing if it affects their habits and their wants.
The ‘other half’ is Lee together since we were 19 and married for 12 years. Lee is an Assistant Headteacher in a local secondary school. He works crazy hours which is why we are bucking the trend and I am becoming a work from mum to give more back to our family. As the youngest starts school now is the time to get off the rollercoaster of life and enjoy it all a bit more.
Biggest girl is Chloe, 18 a sports mad fanatic who loves Hockey and Dancing with a passion. She also likes chocolate and her long hair.
The only boy is Dyl, 14. Bright, articulate, stubborn and laid back is how he is described. He hates Hayfever and worships Aston Villa.
The teeny one and she will always be my baby. Erin is 8 and has me wrapped around her little fingers. This girl is every essence of the word brave. Born with hip dysplasia she has been to theatre seven times and endured months in a spica casts, she also battles with asthma and is extra bendy due to hypermobility. Bravest person I know!
