How much do you spend on your appearance and is it money well spent? I personally spend more on my appearance now than I ever have done. I buy more clothes – they are high street but I am happy to buy what I want. Just this week I popped into Next to buy some jeans and had Erin with me and she loaded up her arms with what she called ‘stylish clothes’. I indulged her as she did need some autumn wear. She looks very cute in what she picked out, Erin has never owned a pair of jeans so is very much a dress type of girl.
I also spend on my hair and health by having regular massages. I have a sports massage every four weeks, it started when Erin was in spica and I realised then how much better it made me feel. I also pay for Chloe to have one every couple of months as she suffers with back and shoulder pain. My therapist Jo totally gets where we are and literally has magic hands but she is also inspiring and a counsellor as I lie and chat!
Feeling good is worth the money in my book. I know if I pay for treatments they increase my well being and confidence which is worth spending on.
Appearance not only makes you feel better but there is much research to say that appearance can help you get a promotion or new job. I now invest in myself because I am my biggest advocate of myself. For some this could include a hair transplant and you can see the Cost of a FUE hair transplant here. As the article explains, when you invest in yourself you need to see how much it improves you and how you feel. Plus you also need to include how much it saves you. When I taught I took sick leave a couple of times due to the pain I had in my neck, the regular sports massages quickly put paid to that. Therefore the initial outlay was worth the the expense as it saved me losing work.
Invest in yourself if it makes you feel good. As feeling good will bring you more rewards than can be measured in just monetary rewards alone.
