We here are loving the warm sunny weather. It has been a gift to come back from Spain to the UK sunshine. With the weather being so good I have noticed the positive effect it has had on my pocket. Take today for example Dyl busied himself at the skate park on his scooter with friends. Afternoons have been spent in the park with Erin she is loving the new skill she has picked up, riding her bike. It brings her such joy.
Being outside is so much more fun than being inside. It is cheaper as we are not paying to go to soft play or the cinema we are just enjoying the free entertainment on our doorstep.
Here are our current favourite free on our door activities.
1. Skate parks – it is good to see that there are now more play options for tweens, at 10 Dyl is beginning to demand indepence and going to a local skate park with friends is a good place to try out this stage of independence.
2. Parks for pre schoolers. We are lucky to have an abundance of parks on our doorstep. These are a great place to do Erin’s physio which includes tacking steps and climbing. Here I can encourage her in a fun way that just seems like playtime.
3. Garden fun – I set up mini circuits of activities and time the children as they do them. It encourages lots of fun as they try to beat their previous times!
4. My sneaky one at the moment – give Erin a spade and she is happy. Therefore I currently am making use of this by getting her to turn the flower beds in preparation of adding some bedding plants! Naughty I know!
