What a weekend! We are on countdown now for the summer holidays and we can’t wait! We have so much planned and can’t wait to get started. Do you make lots of plans for the holidays or wake up and decide each day?
Much of .our summer will be spent at home as we have a new addition coming to the family. Today we chose our puppy or I should I say, today a puppy chose Erin! There were two cavachons left in the litter and they are 8 weeks old. We went to visit with Erin and it was quickly decided which one would be ours. As soon as we sat down on the grass the puppy made a beeline for Erin. It would not leave her alone and Erin was very comfortable. It was a long journey but worth it and we now are really looking forward to her joining our family.
Therefore the summer will mostly be spent settling the puppy in and going on lots of walks! We have also been working really hard on the garden and even installed a hot tub. This is already proving popular with the children who are in it everyday.
Friday night turned into a hot tub party at our house as Chloe’s friends decided it was the place to be! I am already thinking the hot tub is a great addition to the garden. Each evening I have found myself in there with the teenager and it provides a great place to stop and chat about our day. I have said many times that teens need you more and this gives us the perfect opportunity to chat. Mostly at the moment we seem to be chatting about exams, universities and revising!
Our evenings have involved popping on our swimming costumes and relaxing before Love Island starts! I have also been doing some online shopping for holiday clothes and will be sharing those on my YouTube channel (are you subbed?). Life as a freelancer is so flexible and it is wonderful to know that I will be able to switch of the laptop and enjoy time with my family. I will be catching up with bloggy stuff in the evenings though. Being your own boss means that I can work when I choose!
How is everyone else doing in the run up to the long summer holidays? Is it something you look forward to or does it create a minefield of issues due to childcare and how much entertaining the children costs? If you need some low budget days out the ultimate guide on how to go to a festival on a budget may help as could these posts from some money saving bloggers.
