When going on holiday there are always holiday essentials that we all need from suncreams to beach towels to t-shirts and flip flops and I look to save money on these holiday essentials by using a discount store. The Original Factory Shop sell premium brands at amazing prices, last month I shared the beauty bargains that they stock but this time I headed over to the Stroud store with £50 in my pocket to see what holiday essentials I could find instore.
What is The Original Factory Shop?
The Original Factory Shop offers a wide range of High Street labels and big brand deals with up to 70% of RRP across fashion, beauty, home and seasonal items including cheap holiday essentials. However, you need to buy the products when you see them as the stock moves fast due to having only have limited quantities. This means that the store is often fresh and worth regular looks! The discount store has been a regular on the high street since 1969 offering great discounts to savvy shoppers!
Visiting Stroud Store
There are Original Factory Shops in a number of High Streets although the Stroud discount store is just a short drive away from the town center and has its own carpark which makes it ideal. The shop is located in the Cashes Green area and is a large store with lots of stock across the various departments including the holiday essentials. You can use the store finder to find a local store.
The Original Factory Shop invited me to head into a local store with £50 to see how much I could pick up that a family like mine would typically want for a holiday.
Cheap Holiday Essentials for the Whole Family
We have already been on holiday to Perdepera Beach Resort in Sardinia this summer but we have some mini staycations booked and our oldest teenager is heading to Bulgaria next week with friends, so she came shopping with me to stock up on her holiday essentials and to see how much £50 will buy us in The Original Factory Store. **spoiler – we were not disappointed!**
As we headed into the discount store we had a few ideas of what we were looking for! Chloe had decided she absolutely needed some white and yellow nail varnish and she was thrilled to see OPI nail items available. These were on offer at 2 for £8 so they were snapped up as holiday essentials! We also got some premium brand haircare including Charles Worthington heat defense spray which was just £3 instead of the recommended retail price of £5.99.
We also decided on some pre-holiday pampering with moisturising foot socks and a hair masque, after all we want to feel amazing when we going away.
Keeping hydrated on holiday is essential and Chloe is a little prone to sun sickness / sunstroke because she likes to lie in the sun for hours on end. Therefore when she spotted a huge water bottle she popped that into our trolley too. Then came a fun beach towel that all sun loungers need when lying by the pool! This was a great quality towel at just £14
I wasn’t aware at just how much branded clothing was also available in-store and whilst I was there I saw Gummies flip flops (oh so comfy) and Adidias T-Shirts and more. I spotted a cute unicorn T Shirt that Erin hasn’t stopped wearing since I picked it up! There is also some fun garden toys ideal for staycations or fun around the pool. I gave Erin some water balloons which she has had great fun with, in this mini heatwave.
The Original Factory Shop really impressed Chloe and me with the premium brands it stocks and at very affordable prices. You really feel like you are getting a bargain when picking up those holiday essentials in a discount store. Picking up your holiday essentials this way helps save money ready for those holiday cocktails too! I will certainly be heading back for more seasonal and homeware products as it offers great value for money.
