It was so inspiring to read how others are being frugal and we thank you for joining in last week. This past week I have been so inspired by all things money saving and I cannot wait to read how others have saved this week.
Here are my Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week
- Saturday saw me heading to the UK Money Blogggers Conference and the SHO MO’s and although I am stretching the concept of saving a little bit by including it in my five frugal things I class it as frugal as I learnt so much from my money blogger contemporaries that I know it is going to have a huge impact on my blog and also on my saving. The stories I heard were brilliant and inspiring. I spoke on a panel discussing blogger rates which I consider Frugal as we were talking about how to make more money.
- I changed Erin’s swimming lessons to a more convenient location and halved the cost of her lessons in the process. I also discovered our local leisure centre has a scheme for her which means she can now attend drop in sessions for free. Win and do enquire whether your leisure centre runs similar schemes to get children active.
- I am giving credit to the teen for this next fabulously frugal thing but it saved her a massive £80! Chloe wanted new hockey Astros. She did her research and bought them online but she was clever as she checked the children’s section in addition to the ladies section. In the ladies section the adidas Lux Women Pink Hockey Shoes cost £119 in a size six. On the same site, the same adidas Junior Pink Hockey Shoes were just £35 in a size six. My daughter has been taught well and really enjoyed knowing she had snagged a great deal. This proves that you really need to check the children’s departments especially for shoes!
- It was Roald Dahl celebration day and I was able to put together Erin’s outfit without spending. Primary schools have lots of dress up days and whilst it is easy to head straight to ebay or Amazon for a costume often you have enough at home especially if you search pinterest! If you are wondering Erin went as Sophie from the BFG
