It has been another great week on our Fabulously Frugal linky and I have once again been inspired by how families just like ours are cutting corners and saving money – often easily too without too much effort.
I have been in the garden this week and trying to tidy it up. I need some new bedding plants as we have have our borders cut deeper and a new feature put in that is very empty.
Plants are so expensive at garden centres and therefore I have been looking at filling my borders without breaking the bank. Last year I won a competition that gave me a thousand pound to do our garden. It afforded us to have the brickwork done and created a good sitting area but now it is sparse. My grandad is a dab hand in the garden and thankfully he has been sorting me out with cuttings thatt he has taken and grown in pots for me. I am not very good at doing that and I also think it is lovely to have parts of my nan and grandads garden growing in mine. My nan loved her little garden and spent hours out there getting it just so. I wish I had her patience and green fingers!
Therefore I was hoping that some of the entries in this weeks linky would be garden related and I was going to be able to put others ideas into practise.
The first useful set of tips came from How to beat garden pests I do seem to have plants munched and so this was great. Frugal family also wrote a lovely post about how the older generation saved money and has got me thinking about Growing your own I would love an old ceramic sink to fill with veg.
If you have any garden ideas please do add them to this weeks linky as I really need some help! Do go visit my co hosts over at Thrifty Mum and Frugal Family to see what they have been up to this week.
