Top Tips: How to Create a Posh Italian Picnic on Budget

June 19, 2017 by EmmaB Leave a Comment

We have had a garden makeover and right now there are not many places I’d rather be. After 7 years of living here we have the garden we have always wanted. It has been achieved in stages as we have had new patio’s put in and also new beds and borders.

I am not a green fingered gardener but finally the plants are growing and the flowers are blooming.  When I look at those flowers in bloom it makes me smile.  I see the London Pride plant that my nan cultivated in her homes, from their family home in Dursley and then their little courtyard garden in their retirement home. It now has taken root in my garden.  There are also lots of plants from popa’s garden and I am still digging bits up from their bungalow and popping them in my garden.

We have just added a budget friendly hot tub to the garden which we are all enjoying.  Therefore sitting in my garden is becoming my favourite place to be. In the summer I enjoy being able to eat outside and dream away.

This past week we have really enjoyed the scorching heat and hassle-free Italian al-fresco dining.  Did you know Ocado makes it simple to order authentic Italian food and drink products and ingredients in a one-stop-shop? Ciao Gusto have a shop tab on the site making it easy to find Italian favourites. My lot love italian meats and Negroni is the most well-known brand of charcuterie in Italy. It has been a leader in the market of premium delicatessen meats and my kids cannot get enough of it! They have been eating it with Auricchio cheese, Amica Chips and Ponti antipasti vegetables in jars. We also like slow roasted sundried tomatoes stuffed with feta.  It is now so easy to buy all what we once considered ‘holiday foods’ in Ocado.
