How To Make Your Savings Go Further In 2023

March 17, 2023 by EmmaB Leave a Comment

We all want to have an abundance of savings that we can rely on when the rainy days come. However, not everyone has the experience of saving money, nor were they taught a great deal about how to save money.

Saving money is a habit that comes with practice and if you’ve not been doing it, then it’s a practice you’re going to have to implement over time so that it becomes a natural habit to save.

If you’re looking to make your savings go further this year, then here are a few tips to do just that in 2023.

Take advantage of high-interest savings and ISA accounts

Firstly, take advantage of the recent interest rates going up for banks. Even if you only got a few hundred pounds saved into an account, you’ve always got the opportunity to put it in a bank account that will accrue a bit of extra money here and there.

If you’re looking to fix your savings into an ISA and build your funds without the temptation of taking it out, then there are plenty of accounts that have great interest rates. This does mean you will have to keep your money locked in the account for X amount of years. Most will offer 1, 2, 3, and five-year fixed ISA account opportunities.

Invest money and diversify your portfolio

A platform like BuyAssociation is useful for anyone looking to make their money go further through various investment opportunities. When you’re building savings, it’s important to invest your money and diversify the investment portfolio you create.

If you’re someone who is looking to make the most out of their savings and to do so when they’re in their early years of life, then the investment is key. It’s something you should really be doing from your 20s onwards. By doing it now, you’re going to save yourself some serious cash and could even accrue money from investments that allow you to retire early!

Take on some new side hustles

To make more money, it’s definitely recommended that you take advantage of any new side hustles that you may have available.

From selling your old clothes and electronics to filling in online surveys online. The internet holds a lot of power to make extra money and you may find you’re signing up to service websites where you can provide services to help make more income. From offering to clean houses to fulfilling any handiwork around someone’s home, there’s always help needed.

Move any credit cards to 0% balance transfer cards

Debt is one of the drawbacks that can come from trying to save money. That’s why it’s important to consolidate as much of your debt as possible. For credit cards as an example, it’s worth doing a 0% balance transfer so that you can shift all of your debt onto these cards without incurring any more interest fees on those existing cards.

With these tips, along with cutting any monthly expenditures or luxuries, you’ll be able to make your money go even further this year.
