With the various kitchen appliances in the market, choosing suitable units for a fully functional kitchen can be challenging. For this reason, we’ve put together eight essential appliances every kitchen should have. 

  1. Refrigerator

A refrigerator is an essential kitchen appliance as it helps keep the food fresh, drinks cold, and prevents food wastage, especially when it has a freezer. Fridges come in different sizes and with varying features, so you should consider the size of your family, the amount of food you intend to store every day, and the star ratings to choose an appropriate refrigerator for your kitchen.

Washing the utensils is one of the most dreaded house chores, especially after an exhausting day. As such, you should invest in a high-quality dishwasher. Dishwashers are electric appliances with adjustable racks used to clean, sanitize, and dry utensils.

If you are often busy and want to serve your family a delicious, home-cooked meal, then a slow cooker, also known as a crockpot, is essential. You simply put your ingredients in the pot then set your slow cooker on a timer. You can be sure to come back to a tasty meal at the end of the day without much effort. To choose an appropriate crockpot for your kitchen, consider the size of your family and crucial features such as timers, automatic warning and warming function, detachable inserts, and sear function.

An oven is one of the most multi-functional kitchen appliances. You can use it for cooking, baking, reheating cooked food, and grilling meat and vegetables. You should consider the size, wattage, and crucial features such as automatic turntable when purchasing the right oven for your kitchen.

  1. Food processor

Cooking can be time-consuming, so you should invest in a food processor to reduce the food preparation time. A food processor can make dough and batter, chop, blend and puree in minutes. Food processors come with different blade attachments, so you should choose an appropriate blade depending on your processing needs.

  1. Microwave

This small kitchen appliance is crucial in every modern or traditional home as it can be used to reheat leftovers, steam and boil vegetables, and bake cakes. You could also use a microwave oven to defrost. A microwave is user-friendly and exceptionally durable. 

  1. Blender

A blender is crucial for making soups, smoothies, purees, and juice. It also comes in handy when you need to prepare your baby’s food. You should go for a unit that is easy to clean and maintain and one that is multi-functional.

  1. Coffee maker

If you are a coffee lover, then a coffee maker is an indispensable appliance to own. Ensure that you opt for a unit that allows you to brew different types of coffee, including latte and espresso. You could also choose a programmable unit that avails of the choice to automatically set up the brewing process for the night so that you wake up to the aroma of fresh coffee.
