Today it is sports day but we still have time to reflect on this weeks money saving and money making ventures! It has been another busy week here with lots of life admin going on in the background, but with it opportunities to make smart savings.
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done Linky
First up and probably the most important is making sure that your life insurance is fit for purpose. Many of us ignore life insurance but that could be a very costly mistake if the worst was to happen. I had a slight panic myself on this as I have had some health issues the past couple of months and it did get me considering my long-term financial situation. If you are not covered I urge you to read 4 Things Everyone Knows About Life Insurance That You Don’t. If you take out cover because of my suggestion you will also be gifted a £75 voucher for M&S or John Lewis, and considering the premiums start off very low that is like free money right!
Secondly, I used TopCashBack to sort out Chloe’s travel insurance. She is off on her girls holiday very soon and I wanted to make sure that she was well covered with a low excess incase she needs to pay anything whilst out in Greece. Taking a EHIC card is also really important and these are free – just apply in good time. Never buy travel insurance from the estate agent- look online for low price details. I have paid just £11 for the week.
Thirdly don’t forget it is Fathers Day this weekend and if you are not organised be quick and read 6 Budget Fathers Day Treats that you can still do.
Penultimately we are still decluttering and selling things we no longer need. It has stalled a little this week but I we just need to go back into the selling sites and bump things up.
Finally I have stopped my personal training – again initially due to health but it was also expensive and I have decided group training is the way forward. It costs less and I like the motivation and energy I get from group training. You can read all about my start in Iron Zuu Gloucester: Training Like Never Before.
FRUGAL THINGS I’VE DONE LINKY
We would love you to join in with us by sharing what frugal and thrifty things you’ve been up to this week. Whether it’s an Instagram picture (#5frugalthings), a blog post or even a video. Just add your link to the linky at the bottom of this post. You don’t have to share five things you’ve done, anything thrifty or frugal that you’ve been doing is perfect.
We’d like to make this a great little community linky so it would be brilliant if you could comment on a couple of the other blog posts linked up. We’ll make sure that we comment on all posts and if you have a Pinterest friendly image then we’ll Pin your post to one of our boards too.
You’re more than welcome to copy and paste the badge above but it would be even better if you could let your readers know that you’re linking up with us by adding a little line to the bottom of your post like this one:
I’m linking up with Cass , Emma and Becky in this week’s ‘Five Fabulously Frugal things I’ve done this week linky.

I’m a huge fan of Topcashback for when I take out any insurance!

I am so pleased to read of this. My biggest take from this is the insurance thing which I will definitely check out. I have always made sure that we have the EHIC so that we are covered when travelling.
I really admire you for doing this whole exercise thing. Very impressive.
I’ve not used Top Cashback for insurance yet but when it’s renewal time again I’ll definitely check there.
