Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done

August 16, 2019 by EmmaB Leave a Comment

I am back with my five fabulously frugal things I’ve done this week. I am sure I am not alone with thinking about how much the summer holidays are costing us. The wet weather doesn’t help as we cannot just spend hours in the park with a punnet of strawberrries. Instead, we are needing to spend money on indoor activities that keep the teens and tween entertained.

Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done

Firstly I spent ages researching for a new small tent for Erin and I who are heading off to a festival next weekend. I didn’t what to spend much and opted for one with good reviews North Gear Camping Mars Waterproof 4 Man Dome Tent it will hopefully keep was warm and dry over the weekend! Not bad for under £60!

Next Erin was bored and asked to go bowling, it is about £8 per person but a quick look online and I found a £5 deal that included a game of bowling and dinner! Win win so the girls headed off for a couple of hours down at the bowling lane.

I have previously taken part in paid research groups and generally find them quite interesting (that’ll be the sociologist in me) and this week another local blogger spotter that a focus group was taking place in Gloucester and I signed up Dylan and his friend. They took part in a discussion of an hour and a half and were both given a £20 voucher for their time. It is always good to look out for these types of opportunities.

Fourthly I have been cooking from scratch because it is so much cheaper, especially when you use yellow sticker items. For lots of recipe inspiration do check out Reduced Grub.

Lastly I have saved money this week by getting the school uniform in the TU sale at Sainsburys. This week there is 25% off all clothing.

Finally I have been making the most of Chloe’s staff discount and dare I say it, even getting a few bits for Christmas put away. I do find the sales are a good time for basics that I like to put in stockings, so underwear, stationery and so on.

We’d like to make this a great little community linky so it would be brilliant if you could comment on a couple of the other blog posts linked up. We’ll make sure that we comment on all posts and if you have a Pinterest friendly image then we’ll Pin your post to one of our boards too.

You’re more than welcome to copy and paste the badge above but it would be even better if you could let your readers know that you’re linking up with us by adding a little line to the bottom of your post like this one:
