Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week

It has been a while since I have written my frugal week to share with everyone but I need to get some control and start thinking about my spending again.

This week saw Chloe going back to University for her third year. We imagine that it will be a very different experience but nevertheless she headed off with enthusiasm and positivity for the year ahead.

My Frugal Week

The first way I have saved money this week is by visiting the local charity shop. I found a great Joules top that looked new and was only £6. I am also buying a few books incase we do end up back in lockdown. I want to be a little prepared!

Secondly I have been really concentrating on not buying beauty products. I have a drawer or two full and have vowed to use them up before buying more. I am a sucker for beauty products!

Next, we decided that I will drive Dylan to school for the foreseeable future. This is to keep him off public transport where possible. It is a pain and an inconvenience but it is a huge financial saving, although that was not the reasoning behind our decision. Usually, we spend £15 a week on his bus fare so it is a significant saving.

Using TopCashBack is still my favourite everyday way to save money on spending. I saved money this week when I sorted out my pet insurance. I save my cashback in the account all year and withdraw it as vouchers ready for Christmas spending.

We’d like to make this a great little community linky so it would be brilliant if you could comment on a couple of the other blog posts linked up. We’ll make sure that we comment on all posts and if you have a Pinterest friendly image then we’ll Pin your post to one of our boards too.

You’re more than welcome to copy and paste the badge above but it would be even better if you could let your readers know that you’re linking up with us by adding a little line to the bottom of your post like this one:

I hope your Chloe is settling in well during these strange times. We just have to make the best of the situation we are in. Wise idea to drop Dylan too. I sometimes see the kids at the bus stop and I really wonder how we don’t have many more cases than we do! Anyway, glad to catch up and see what frugal things you are up to. And thanks for the chance to link up.
