We are lucky to live surrounded by green spaces and parks. My children are spoilt for which park to play in. In addition to parks we also have a tennis court that is open to all. My older two spend many an hour playing tennis together especially now the evenings are light and warm. Last week they came home excited as both have pestered me for tennis lessons but in reality we can not fit them into our already hectic diaries. They were excited as they had spotted a banner on the side of the court advertising LTA free tennis weekends. They are several dates included.
Today I looked up the details and couldn’t believe quite what was on offer in my local park for free. I quickly booked Erin (aged 4) and Dylan (aged 10) up for a free 45 minute taster lesson. I have also booked the whole family up for a free session the weekend after. I am away this weekend at Britmums Live and this will help Lee keep them entertained for he morning. Chloe is already away as it is her DofE expedition.
There are children’s lessons and cardio tennis for those older than 10. Registering was quick and simple. There doesn’t seem to be any restrictions on how many sessions you can have as I booked two lots up.
You can see what is available local to you on the LTA page. What a great thing to be offering in local communities.
