Getting ready for the weekend

September 14, 2015 by EmmaB Leave a Comment

I have a super exciting weekend coming up and I am literally counting down the sleeps until I get to spend some quality time with some friends.  Friends that I met on the internet no less and friends that now mean the world to me.  When I started  blogging I never considered that it would lead me to a new career, new friends and exciting weekends away.

For those not in the know this weekend is one of the biggest events in my blogging calendar, The MAD blog awards which is a red carpet event held at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.  I will be donning a dress and heels and spending some time time with the bloggers I admire.  Although I am nominated for two awards one in School days and one for thrifty I think I have picked out the winners for both categories and I am just honoured that people voted to get me there in the first place.

I also spoke at Funfest this past weekend and feel really inspired with my blogging again, last week was a pretty good week with some exciting things coming up and I plan to take all the opportunities and just see where it leads.  I feel that this next academic year really could be my year.  It is a real testament to my belief and risk taking attitude.  Sometimes you have to take a risk and not play so safe and I am feeling like that right now.

I have also started running again, it has taken a while since breaking my foot but I do enjoy running after dropping the Erin at school, it seems to invigorate me for the day and makes me feel better about myself.  Since leaving the classroom I have noticed that I take much better care of myself, I eat better, my skin feels better and my hair even looks better.  I do need to tone up and I would love to have a smile to be proud of, maybe it is not too late to get invisible braces and correct my teeth. Later in the month I have a spa day with my best friend, it is great that I can now take advantage of good mid week offers. The spa was a groupon deal that I paid for and I will review it after. I have a facial booked which is one of my favourite beauty treats.

Life really is good at the moment and I am very excited how my blogging career is going to keep going forward.
