How to Bring Spring into the Kitchen

January 29, 2017 by EmmaB Leave a Comment

The sun is starting to shine through the windows reminding me that Spring is soon coming.  With it brings new life and glimmers of colour.  I like to refresh the home during the Spring months and have saved our Christmas money for the January sales and new spring ranges that come out at this time.

We usually redecorate one room a year too and this year it will be the dining room.  However it has gone on hold as my dad, who does the wallpapering, is waiting for an operation but I can’t wait until we do it.

Browsing House of Fraser I have found myself some new bits for the kitchen.  I have just bought a new duck egg blue dinner set for everyday use.  Therefore I was searching for a few things to go with it.

The storage jars were so pretty I needed them. The bowl is also fab and will hold fruit for us all to snack on. The other thing I desperately needed was new glasses.  We seemed to smash a few recently (the joy of a ceramic sink) so I picked out some great value everyday glasses.  I went for ones with different patterns on as the children always get a new glass every time they want a drink.  They claim they need a clean glass (more washing up for me) because they can’t remember which glass was theirs.

I am hoping they will stick to a design each!

I also picked out some new wine glasses for me.  It is no secret I enjoy a glass of wine and to me if I drink it out of a good glass it is all the more enjoyable.  Therefore I plan to treat myself to the designer glasses.

Do you save your Christmas for the sales and new season designs or do you prefer presents?  I like to have a mixture which is why our parents give us money to buy ourselves some nice new things.
