Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week Linky

June 9, 2017 by EmmaB 4 Comments

Well that week whizzed by!  This weekend we have lots going on and cannot wait to attend the Summertime Capital Ball with our friends at Vodafone.  Last year it was one of our blogging highlights and we can’t wait to go again! Fingers crossed the weather changes and we don’t get too wet!

My Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done

  • As you will know we like popping into Marks and Spencer on a Sunday afternoon at about 3.30 to see if there are any greatly reduced yellow stickers.  Usually we get some yummy food.  However as we were actually at the checkout queuing to pay the cashier was reducing some plants.  not just any plant but huge beautiful orchids.  They were originally £30 on offer for £20 and we picked them up for £2!!!! Yes £2 in a lovely planter also.  We took two big ones and a small one with a planter in the living rooms colours.
  • I am organising the teacher’s gift for the class again this year. We club together and each contribute £5 which gets the teachers a much better gift and something they will really appreciate. This is frugal as it is better value and the teachers gets something they will really treasure.
  • I took back some clothes that don’t fit.  Now this is something we should all do all the time.  But often I forget and then just later charity shop them.
  • When the sun was shining I decided it was time to make the toes pretty.  I tend to have paid pedicures in the summer but this time I had a home DIY effort and let Erin loose with the varnish.  The girl did good too

Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week Linky Rules:

We’d love you to join in with us by sharing what frugal and thrifty things you’ve been up to this week. Whether it’s an Instagram picture (#5frugalthings), a blog post or even a video. Just add your link to the linky at the bottom of this post.

You don’t have to share five things you’ve done, anything thrifty or frugal that you’ve been doing is perfect.

We’d like to make this a great little community linky so it would be brilliant if you could comment on a couple of the other blog posts linked up. We’ll make sure that we comment on all posts and if you have a Pinterest friendly image then we’ll Pin your post to one of our boards too.

You’re more than welcome to copy and paste the badge above but it would be even better if you could let your readers know that you’re linking up with us by adding a little line to the bottom of your post like this one:
I’m linking up with Cass, Emma and Becky in this week’s ‘Five Fabulously Frugal things I’ve done this week linky.

    1. Wet day on Saturday so used my monthly bus pass and took DD to MOSI. They have lots of interactive areas for children and her dad loved showing her the old steam trains and plans.
    2. Cloudy day yesterday so put on wellies and went puddle jumping at park and climbed some trees then piped into grans so a chat and DD played the toys we keep there.
    3. Saved a few pounds in food shop by buying my meats and frozen at Aldi. They have a great range and we actually prefer there lamb burgers to our usual supermarket buys.
    4. Spent one lunch break checking through my budget for month, and in evening talked trough our money goals for future with DH
    5. Used 10% off voucher for local American diner to treat family to a meal out. Great food and service and lovely memories made
