Our kitchen really is a hub of activity from baking cakes with Erin to be where I chat with the teen when we are preparing dinner. It all happens in the kitchen and I always find when we have friends over that I spend time in the kitchen chatting. I love how the kitchen has been personalised to represent our family. This month Fairy platinum have teamed up with Britmums to ask bloggers what are their kitchen tales and this post is an entry for the “My Kitchen Story” Linky Challenge, sponsored by Fairy Platinum you can check out Fairy at Facebook.com/fairydish. I love that my kitchen and it’s bi-fold doors gives me the prefect frame to look out onto my garden and it’s impressive backdrop. I can hear the water from my pond and it instantly relaxes me.
Erin loves nothing more than baking and decorating cakes. We are usually found doing this most weeks!
We like our kitchen gadgets and love that is a really bright room. However my favourite feature is the view. I could almost admit that we bought the house on the back of this view. We live in a family orientated development, but we have snagged the best view!
I stand and look out the window and watch Erin playing but the backdrop is these glorious pine trees that are protected and stand proud and tall behind my fence. We are privileged to spend hours watching the squirrels chasing each other and their tails all day long. I will often sit on the back step with a coffee just listening to those majestic trees.
I have personalised the kitchen with a few hand chosen splashes of colour. The footprint and family ceramic was made when Erin was tiny and I love that I am reminded how far her little foot has come since then. It was taken long before the battle that would come for her to walk on her feet.
I also love this letter rack Lee picked up when he was fed up with my post piling up. It became what we used as inspiration when choosing the bird print blind. My kitchen really is a calming place to be although there is always something happening in there!
There is not much I’d change about my kitchen although some seating at the breakfast bar would be ideal. Fairy does it’s job of keeping my clothes and dishes clean and I just wish that I had a fairy for the hoovering and ironing too!
