October 3, 2022 by EmmaB Leave a Comment

It’s always a good idea to try and save as much money as you can as an employer. Whether you cut costs from recruitment, advertising, or miscellaneous expenditures, being more frugal with your loose change will only help your bottom line grow larger, and your profits increase.

101 weird ways to make money

Here are five tips for helping you succeed in saving money as an employer.

  1. Use Recruitment Software

Using recruitment software is proven to help you save money by reducing the man hours needed for admin work relating to hiring.

With the most used recruiting reports at Oleeo.com, you can analyse areas that your hiring policies might need improving, which will help you streamline your processes.

  • Use Remote or Hybrid Working Models

You can downsize your office or working space by adopting a hybrid or completely remote working policy. This will lower your overhead expenditure by reducing the rent payments and bills.

Studies during the Covid-19 pandemic have also revealed that remote and hybrid working often creates happier employees. In fact, Forbes recently reported that remote working increases employee happiness by 20%!

  • Track Your Expenses

Not spending money is the best way to save money!

Track your expenses using a spreadsheet and assess which fields you might need to cut down on by categorising where you spend your money.

You will then find it easier to create a plan to reduce expenditure, either by switching providers or suppliers if applicable, integrating services, or cutting unnecessary employment by outsourcing for material.

  • Use Renewable Energy

With energy bills rising, you can invest in some solar panels or wind turbines for your office or work buildings to offset some of your energy spend. Wind turbines have a life expectancy of around 25 years, making them a worthy investment.

Solar panels will also last for a similar length of time, and it’s been reported that some panels installed as early as the 1980s are still in working order today!

Companies like Ecotricity can install wind turbines or solar panels to your business building so you can enjoy lower costing energy. You will also be able to sell energy you don’t use back to the grid, earning you some extra money.

  • Be Smart with Your Advertising

Advertising your business can be expensive, but there are ways that you can monopolise the attention without spending all your pennies.

Invest more time into a social media presence, as this will give you the baseline exposure for free. You can top up with promotions and extra ads for a much smaller fee than the standard. Facebook and Instagram are the hubs for social media advertising.

Meta use a programme called Ads Manager to universally control your adverts across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Audience Network.

This means that you can have all your advertising handy in one place, as well as the ability to compare what is working well and the areas that need improvement.
