I am not known for my cooking abilities, I stick to family tried and tested recipes but that is changing. We are not a wasteful family by any means but there are some inevitable’s that end up in the bin that I always feel guilty about. I have vowed to put an end to that where I can and now I have more time, I plan to save money but also make sure we are cutting down on waste.
Therefore I decided to get creative with the leftover bread and some banana that were turning. I have made a yummy pudding for after dinner tonight.
Ingredients:
Five slices of bread
Butter
140 mls milk
85 grms soft brown sugar
pinch of all spice
2 bananas
Method:
1. Butter the bread and cut into chunks. Placing bread into a loaf tin.
2. Slice banana’s and add to the loaf tin.
3. Combine sugar, all spice and milk. Pour over the bread and bananas
4. Bake in the oven for 35 mins.
To serve:
This would be lovely with ice cream or custard. I ate it cold on its own.
Oh delicious. My boys have been known to deliberately leave the bananas go brown just so I will make muffins with them,
