Co-op Wine Deals: We have searched so you don’t have to!

December 14, 2017 by EmmaB 2 Comments

I have been stocking up on wine and champagne in the run-up to Christmas and New Year.  This year I have needed to add more to my stock as Chloe turns 18 at the start of January and of course, we plan to celebrate with a party! Therefore I have been keeping my eyes on the supermarket wine deals.  This year the Co-op wine deals are especially good.

I have already stocked up on Baileys whilst it is just £10 per bottle, I usually buy two to have one before Christmas and one after!

The Co-op invited me to try a few bottles of their wines and I specifically asked for Pinot and also Champagne.  If you read my other blog Emma and 3 you will know I have high expectations on champagne having recently been drinking it at The Ivy Cheltenham!

Co-op have their own brand champagne Les Pionniers and it costs just £16.99 but we all know the taste has to be right too not just the price. I discovered that this bottle is award-winning and rather special. In fact it was the only supermarket to win the award and it means that the bubbly is on par with top names like Dom Perignon.  You can read about the award here in the Telegraph. Obviously, you can buy in stores and also read about them on the Co-op website. This will be my bottle of choice on Christmas Day for sure.

I was also sent the Finca Las Moras Pinot which is currently under £5 per bottle.  The bottle was light to drink and went down well.  Again this is a great party wine and at a very good price. i will be stocking up whilst it is on offer!

Here is the current list of the wines and sparkling wines on offer from now until the start of January. Let me know which ones you enjoy. Wine is better to drink chilled, so for those who drink it regularly, we can advise you to get a cooler for wine.

I love wine country and since I live in Washington I’ve visited winey country here and in Oregon, plenty of times. The last time I was in Napa I was very young and would love to return as I really loved the landscape. Domaine Carneros is quite grand and I’d love to see the winery -Grgich Hills Estate- that put California wines on the map. I also like train rides and that would be such a fun way to taste wines and see the scenery pass by slowly.
