This week was supposed to be a little calmer, a little less hectic and a chance to catch up. Yet that is not exactly what has happened. Chloe’s little car broke down on Monday morning which has meant that I have been doing the school run again. I have also had yet another trip to A&E as Dyl took a fall and unfortunately the tarmac won. Another week of fun in my life!
However turning my attention to being frugal I have managed a few things.
- Firstly rather than pay for daily bus fares for Chloe and Dyl I have been driving them to school. It is much cheaper but more time consuming. I don’t mind for a week but it would not be a long term solution for us as the time is too precious to me.
- I have written about money saving ways to bring light into your home in this post
- Last week we didn’t do a big shop, instead I have been eating out of the freezer and cupboards. It is a good idea every few months to really look at what you have as many of us have a few weeks meals in the freezer.
- Last week I listed some bits on Ebay including a Nintendo DS3 which is practically unused in the cupboard. I was really surprised that it sold for just over £100. It has got me thinking about what else I have in cupboards that could potentially be worth money.

Wow great result selling the Nintendo DS3. So agree that eating from your cupboards and freezer can help cut food bills, I’ve done a month long store-cupboard challenge a couple of times and it made a big difference.

Oh no, not another trip to A&E 🙁 Sorry to hear it’s been another “week of fun”. Still, you’ve done remarkably well with your frugal week, great job selling on eBay!
