Another Friday rolls around whilst we are still in lockdown. It is helping my finances no end although I am craving more places that I can go and actually spend some money. What I would give to meet friends for a coffee or to sit in the pub this evening, or even to buy ice creams for us all in the park. Life really is tough right now!
However looking at the positives I will share where we have made savings this week.
- We have swapped cinema trips for TV series and I have been watching Normal People which I adored. I have bought myself the book to read at home in the hot tub!
- I planned at home spa day this week which was lovely and left my skin feeling fabulous afterward. I have slowly been working my way through the body lotions, hair masks, and bath products that I have stored up!

- Next, I am hoping to make money as I have popped 25% of my self-employment grant away (ready for tax) and also the money that I was due to spend on our summer holiday into my premium bonds account. This is easily accessible but has a chance of winning me better returns than my current account.
- Finally I helped my daughter apply for a tax rebate where she was accidentally taxed earlier in the year. We really hope this comes through because financially it is not easy being a student right now. Rent still has to be paid but all their jobs have disappeared and many were on zero hour contracts or only had temporary work.
