Can you even be frugal during a half term week? This has been my reality this week and the answer yes because being frugal, or not wasting money is all about getting a good deal. For me, it is not about going without, far from it. It is making good choices and spending wisely. This week Erin asked if we can go out for afternoon tea and my first thought was to turn to Groupon, who did have some good deals, but I couldn't get to the one I … [Read more...]

The Boots 70% off sale is one of the highlights of the year for me! That might sound silly but I genuinely get excited to stock up on beauty bargains for the year ahead. The Boots 70% off sale usually takes place on the last Friday in January. Previously it was a week earlier but the past two years it has now been the last Friday in January. I have been going to this sale for about 8 years, I remember doing it when Erin was in spica which … [Read more...]

What a busy week it has been for me! I have had my inlaws here for a few days, Chloe has gone back to University and then yesterday I attended the Tourism Forum in Cheltenham. It was a really interesting day and reinvigorated my passions for writing about local attractions - and promoting the beautiful Cotswold area in which I live. I am still in a great money-saving mood and have been really good with spending. I think it is much easier … [Read more...]

This week I have noticed that I am sleeping better and I feel more awake so am taking it day by day! We have also had Dylan's year 11 … [Read more...]

Once more Friday has come hurtling towards us which means that I take time to reflect on the ways I have saved and made money this week. I have had a low spend week this week as I am trying really hard to save for our trip to Florida for next year. As always my philosophy is not about going without just trying to spend and save more mindfully. The first big saving has been documented in the national press this week. I have been featured in … [Read more...]

Instead, we are needing to spend money on indoor activities that keep the teens and tween entertained. Five Fabulously Frugal Things I've Done Firstly I spent ages researching for a … [Read more...]
