The sun is shining and once again it is Friday.  Today I am busy preparing for a weekend away to Center Parcs.  We cannot wait to get there and as soon as the school bell rings we will be on our way! We have a meal ready for tonight which just needs reheating once we … [Read more...]

As Friday rolls around again it gives me time to reflect on my spending this past week.  I seem to have given the kids lots of money this week, mostly for bus fares and things.  My eldest usually drives the middle one to school but she is now on a more reduced timetable as exams about to start.  It means that the change keeps disappearing from my purse! I also had to top up their school dinner money accounts!  This week I have written … [Read more...]

This week I have turned my thoughts to going away in the summer. It has been a busy year with Chloe doing her A Levels and all the University application and open days.  We all need a break after school finishes. Chloe is also going on her first girls holiday. Nine girls and Malia - I dread to think!! This year I think the rest of us will be enjoying a staycation and weekend festivals.  If you are looking to do a festival on a budget checkout … [Read more...]

Friday has caught me unawares this week. I genuinely didn't know it was Friday until I saw a friend say on Instagram that it was! How do the school holidays manage to confuse my body clock so much? Are you enjoying the children at home or have you had enough now? School holidays always cost so much more don't they, we popped to Costa yesterday and that was £20 spent, luckily the kids had some voucher cards so they bought their own drinks! I do … [Read more...]

It has not exactly been a frugal week for me! This week is Cheltenham Races Week and I go each and every year to the meet. I have a blow out day too! It started with breakfast and prosecco at The Ivy Cheltenham with my friend. We backed a couple that placed so didn't lose all our money - that said it is not a cheap day out! FIVE FABULOUSLY FRUGAL THINGS I’VE DONE THIS WEEK: Listed a whole heap of things on Ebay including Chloe's old … [Read more...]
